Africa Following Ukrainian Conflict 'With Concern,' Suffering Its Consequences: Burundian President
The continent is facing disruptions in the energy, grain, and fertilizer markets, as well as risks related to weapons and foreign fighters, President of Burundi and AU Chairman Évariste Ndayishimiye told Sputnik Africa.
"In the face of these risks, African states can take action on three fronts: strengthening border control and the tracing of small arms, investing in the training and equipment of their own security forces, and promoting transparency in their cooperation with all partners," he noted.
The president called for a diplomatic solution to the conflict that "has already gone on for far too long."
