As the Russia-Africa Summit officially kicks off on October 28, Moscow is preparing a diplomatic and economic agenda that goes far beyond the economic cooperation to sovereign equality.
With over 2,000 participants expected in Moscow, the Russia-Africa Summit and its accompanying forum are anticipated to bring forth concrete proposals covering air defense, counter-drone systems, military cooperation, nuclear energy, cybersecurity, and many more.In this episode of the Redrawn Africa podcast, Simeone Azoska, a geopolitical analyst affiliated with Grand Strategic Corporation in Accra, Ghana, marshalls out areas in which the propositions from the summit can translate to measurable outcomes between Russia and the continent of Africa. He also notes the significance of re-establishing a logistics hub that could reduce the costs of moving goods not just across the continent but also be capable of connecting the sub-Saharan markets to Russian suppliers and buyers.► You can also listen to our podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Deezer, Castbox, Pocket Casts, Afripods, Podcast Addict, and Overcast.► Check out all the episodes of Redrawn Africa Podcast

In this episode of the Redrawn Africa podcast, Simeone Azoska, a geopolitical analyst affiliated with Grand Strategic Corporation in Accra, Ghana, marshalls out areas in which the propositions from the summit can translate to measurable outcomes between Russia and the continent of Africa.
He also notes the significance of re-establishing a logistics hub that could reduce the costs of moving goods not just across the continent but also be capable of connecting the sub-Saharan markets to Russian suppliers and buyers.
"This speaks to the fact that Africa is beginning to be recognized as a peer continent that has to be engaged, and so that sets the basis right that Africa is on the table with Russia. And that also signals the importance of the continent. So I believe it is important when we cast our minds back to the first time the summit was held, when the trade volumes between Russia and Africa stood at around 16.8 billion dollars. In 2023, it was projected that this should be aimed at 40 billion dollars. Though we have not met that target, to have moved from 16.8 to 27.1 billion, that is a huge progress that has been achieved between Africa and Russia," Azoska noted.
