The 10-kilometer Kechene-Ambassador-Gihon-Irreecha-Bambis Riverside Development is set to advance the vision of a modern, green, and inclusive Addis Ababa, Abiy Ahmed wrote on X.
Key features of the project:
Pedestrian walkways, cycling lanes, and integrated transport infrastructure for a more accessible and livable urban environment;
Children's playgrounds, plazas, amphitheaters, sports facilities, and eight fountains and water features for recreation and community life;
Parking facilities and eight EV charging centers capable of charging over 100 vehicles simultaneously;
River management, soil and water conservation, and riverside green spaces merging restoration with urban development;
A dedicated market center for residents to produce and sell handicrafts;
An agricultural produce mall connecting producers with markets.
