Kenya Confirms Second Ebola Death Linked to First Imported Case
The patient, a 65-year-old woman, was a close relative and direct contact of the first patient—a Kenyan man who traveled from the DR Congo and died earlier this month.

Current Toll: The death brings Kenya's total to 2 fatalities out of 9 confirmed cases. The remaining 7 patients are receiving care in isolation facilities.
Containment Efforts: Authorities have traced and quarantined 135 contacts. The Health Ministry says there is no evidence of community transmission in the country.
The current outbreak, caused by the rare Bundibugyo virus strain that originated in the DRC, has now spread to four African countries. Nigeria recently reported a case with no travel history to the DRC.
