From Scarcity to Stability: Angola's Luanda Biennale Tackles Water Challenges in Africa—Presidency

The fourth edition of the Luanda Biennale, running Thursday and Friday in Angola's capital, focused on water governance as a vital tool for peace and conflict prevention, the Angolan presidency said on social media.

While water scarcity often fuels tensions, equitable water management can ensure food security and regional stability, Angolan President João Lourenço noted in his opening address.

Angola as a Model

He highlighted Angola’s major drought-combat and water supply infrastructure projects as a practical model for the continent.

Call for Investment

Meanwhile, DRC President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi urged African nations to strengthen institutions, build infrastructure, and mobilize investments to harness the continent's abundant water reserves.

ℹ The Luanda Biennale is a Pan-African forum, promoting the prevention of violence and resolution of conflicts through cultural exchanges and constructive dialogue.
