Extreme Conditions, Maximum Readiness: Russian Forces Repel Hypothetical Naval Attack in Arctic
Russia’s Northern Fleet successfully conducted defense drills to protect military infrastructure in the Arctic, the Defense Ministry said.
Key facts about the exercises, according to Russia's MoD:
🟠In the exercise scenario, a hypothetical enemy naval force attempted to seize Russian facilities on Aleksandra Land island.
🟠The threat was neutralized on approach: "Bastion" coastal missile crews executed mock strikes on the enemy fleet, while a Ka-29 helicopter unit eliminated a breakthrough landing force.
🟠Notably, the training was carried out in extreme conditions, enduring heavy snowfall and storm-force winds of up to 30 m/s.
