About the contest

The Andrey Stenin International Press Photo Contest is named after Andrey Stenin, a special photojournalist for the Rossiya Segodnya Media Group and recipient of the Order of Courage, who tragically died in the summer of 2014 near Donetsk.
In December 2014, the Rossiya Segodnya International Media Group established an international contest for young photojournalists to honor the memory of Andrey Stenin. In 2026, the contest is being held for the twelfth time and has consistently served as Russia’s only international platform for young reporters.
The contest aims to support young photographers and draw public attention to the challenges of modern photojournalism. It features six categories: Top News, Single, My Planet, Portrait. A Hero of Our Time, and Top View. A special category, Energy of Life, was introduced in 2026 specifically for photographers over the age of 34.
