Plurality of Voices in African Media 'Absolutely Vital for Democracy': SA Researcher on Sputnik Office Opening in SA & Tanzania
Greater media diversity gives people wider access to information, perspectives and opinions, while the exchange of ideas and best practices can help build a shared future, Mikatekiso Kubayi told Sputnik Africa.
The expansion of Sputnik’s presence in Africa may also provide practical benefits for both sides:
An African-based editorial center could strengthen access to local views, cultures and priorities;
New offices could create jobs and bring investment to host communities;
A broader range of voices can expand access to information and different opinions.
"I think that is, by and large, the two sides of a single coin of benefit to both Sputnik and the African continent."
