Zimbabwean President Unveils Health, Water and Student Housing Projects in Country's North
Emmerson Mnangagwa launched the Presidential Ward-Based Primary Health-Care Outreach Program in Chinhoyi on the sidelines of the 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference.
The leader of the country also commissioned:
▪ a 100kW solar system at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital;
▪ an oxygen plant with a reported capacity of 800 liters per day and is expected to serve hospitals across Mashonaland West;
▪ a 1,271-bed student accommodation facility aimed at addressing student housing shortages.
Following the government intervention to address chronic shortages, Chinhoyi has rolled out a new prepaid water distribution network.
Work so far has restored clean, treated running water to more than 3,500 households, while replacing aging pipes is expected to improve reliability and reduce losses.
The president additionally launched 2026/27 tree-planting season in Mashonaland West on the sidelines of the conference.
