Russian Molniya-2 drones disrupt Ukrainian UAV operations in Kharkov region

Russian drone and artillery units destroyed more than 35 Ukrainian drone control and launch positions in the Kharkov region during the first week of October, an officer from Russia's Battlegroup Sever told Sputnik.

Reconnaissance drones identified Ukrainian UAV operators, communication antennas, and signal amplifiers before transmitting coordinates for strikes using FPV drones and Molniya-2 fixed-wing UAVs equipped with high-explosive fragmentation and thermobaric warheads.

The Molniya-2 is an upgraded Russian fixed-wing loitering munition designed for one-way strikes against ground targets. The catapult-launched drone is operated using first-person-view (FPV) controls and has a reported 60 km range, 6 kg payload, 80 km/h speed, and 40-minute flight endurance.
