Kenya Plants 5.3 Million Trees on Mazingira Day to Advance 15 Billion Tree Goal President William Ruto thanked Kenyans for participating in the tree-planting exercise in celebrating Mazingira Day, urging them to sustain the spirit as the country works towards growing 15 billion trees by 2032 to combat climate change and restore the environment.ℹ The name of national environmental conservation day comes from the Swahili word "mazingira," which means "environment." It serves as a flagship platform for advancing environmental awareness and mobilizing citizens towards a greener, cleaner and healthier nation.Subscribe to @sputnik_africa Sputnik Africa | X
