'Disproportionate Burden': Africa Pays Price at UN Security Council Without Permanent Voice, Expert Says

The lack of an African permanent voice or veto on the UN Security Council "undermines the credibility" of this global body, peace and conflict expert Dr. Dan Odaba told Sputnik Africa as Kenya's President William Ruto renewed calls for reform at the UNGA81.

The issue is not just about a seat—African issues frequently dominate the Council's agenda, and African countries provide large numbers of peacekeepers, yet have no permanent say in shaping decisions, he explained.
