Thousands of French High School Students Protest State Neglect of Schools in Paris: Sputnik Africa Correspondent
Supported by labor unions calling for strikes, including the National Education Union, thousands of high school students are protesting this Tuesday in the French capital, a Sputnik Africa correspondent reported.
Protesters carried signs with messages such as "The state is destroying us" and "What is the police doing? It is obvious" and "We care about high schools; you care about trash cans."
The High School Student Union described this new day of protest as the third act of their mobilization.
The General Confederation of Labor reported over 260,000 protesters across France outside Paris by half past one in the afternoon on Tuesday, with between 20,000 and 40,000 participants expected in the capital.
