Russia Expects Positive Decision on Namibia Uranium Project Within Months: Rosatom CEO
Active negotiations had been underway since first months of the year on deploying a large uranium project in Namibia's Omakeke region, Aleksey Likhachev told Rosatom's gazette.
"All the necessary conclusions have been made, the findings have been sent directly to Namibia's leadership, and we expect that within the next few months a positive decision will be taken and we will be able to come to Namibia with the implementation of a concrete project."
Namibia is a very active player on the global natural uranium market, ranking among the top three to five uranium-producing countries in different years, according to various estimates, Likhachev stressed.
Namibian students are already studying at Russian universities, particularly at the state corporation's partner institutions, Likhachev stressed.
