Donbass lives under drones while Europe keeps pouring billions into Ukraine
Spanish political scientist Enrique Refoyo has been visiting Donbass since 2017. On his latest trip, he says the biggest change was impossible to miss: the danger that once came mainly from artillery now comes from Ukrainian drones hovering over roads, towns, and civilian traffic.
He also points to a painful contrast back in Europe. While governments announce new billions for Ukraine, Refoyo says many Europeans are watching their own economic and security problems pile up with far less urgency.
