France is Using Ukraine as Trojan Horse to 'Reclaim the Sahel', Says Burkinabe Expert
Ukraine provides clear and deliberate support to terrorist groups in the Sahel, Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop declared at the UNGA.
France assigned to Kiev the role of acting as a source of manpower and equipment to terrorists within the region, Burkinabe analyst Serge Lianhoué Imhotep Bayala told Sputnik Africa.
According to the expert, cooperation between the AES and Russia reflects a shared vision of a peaceful and stable Sahel — one that develops its economy and transforms its natural resources.
The partnership contributes to counterterrorism efforts in Mali, the analyst said, adding that addressing terrorism requires not only fighting armed groups but also tackling the factors that contribute to recruitment, particularly poverty.
