Africa Should Not ‘Depend on Limited Number of Partners,’ Says Burundian Economist
Burundi should focus on collaborations with Moscow to boost its development, particularly in the energy, agriculture, and health sectors, Elie Matore told Sputnik Africa, as preparations for the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit are well underway:
Beyond Purchasing
Simply purchasing goods or services from elsewhere is not the answer—what Burundi needs is a real transfer of capabilities and technology, allowing it to deepen its economic and scientific self-sufficiency, he said.
Opening Markets
The country should also facilitate investments from Russia and seek better access for Burundian companies to the Russian market, Matore added.
