Ghana Helps Strengthen Caribbean Healthcare as First Nurses Arrive in Jamaica: Jamaican PM
Under the four-year agreement signed earlier this year, 43 Ghanaian nurses will be deployed to hospitals across Jamaica, Andrew Holness said.
This first cohort paves the way for up to 400 Ghanaian healthcare professionals to support the Caribbean country's health system, he added.
The nurses bring expertise in emergency care, critical care, pediatrics, oncology, mental health, and midwifery.
The partnership will also allow Jamaican and Ghanaian healthcare professionals to share knowledge and strengthen areas such as primary healthcare, health insurance, and chronic disease management, Holness clarified.
Notably, Jamaica and Ghana continue to strengthen cooperation in various fields, including humanitarian and security.
