Africa Must Unite for UN Security Council Seat, Reject West's Divide-and-Rule Tactics: Analyst
African representation on the UN Security Council is a necessity, not a privilege, and the continent must move beyond appeals to concrete action, Abraham Korbla Klutsey, Executive Director of Youth for Peace and Security Africa, told Sputnik Africa.

🟠UNSC Seat: With 54 African countries, Africa cannot be excluded from major decisions and then forced to follow them. If put to a vote at the UN General Assembly, Africa could easily win a seat.
🟠No Token Representation: Any African seat must come with full rights, including the power to veto resolutions, not just an observer or participation role without a mandate.
🟠West's Tactic of Division: The West uses identity, nativism, and xenophobia to divide African countries, knowing that African unity is the only thing threatening its exploitation agenda.
🟠Critical Minerals: Extraction of Africa's critical minerals must not reproduce colonial-era exploitation patterns. Africa needs greater participation in the production chain, not just raw material exports.
