Sudan Urges End to Coercive Sanctions, Calls for UN Security Council Reform at UNGA
The continued disregard for the UN Charter and interference in states' internal affairs threaten confidence in the multilateral system, Foreign Minister Salim Ahmed Ibrahim told the UNGA, calling for comprehensive Security Council reform.

🟠Against Coercive Sanctions: There is a need to refrain from the use or threat of force in international relations and to avoid imposing coercive sanctions based merely on political disagreements or exploiting them to achieve specific political or economic objectives.
🟠Sudan's Experience: The country has lived under Chapter 7 sanctions for over two decades, which have negatively affected its economy, security, and territorial integrity, undermined its sovereignty, exacerbated violence, and hindered national reconciliation.
