Zimbabwe Secures Full Funding for Major Chirundu Border Post Upgrade: Transport Ministry
The Zimbabwean government and private partner Chirundu Border Consortium reached an agreement, securing all necessary funding to modernize the border post with Zambia, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development said in a statement.
Key points of the project:
🟠Private Financing: The project is fully funded by private investors, requiring zero capital from the Zimbabwean government.
🟠Construction: Contractors will work to overhaul legacy infrastructure, introduce advanced systems, and drastically cut transit delays.
🟠Regional Boost: The project will strengthen Zimbabwe’s role as a premier logistics hub and streamline trade along the vital North-South Corridor.
