DRC & Tanzania to Streamline Dar es Salaam Port Operations & Facilitate Trade: Ministry
The DR Congo and Tanzania set a strict 90-day deadline to finalize a new bilateral trade agreement, the Congolese Ministry of Foreign Trade said.
Key provisions of the upcoming trade agreement, according to the ministry:
🟠Streamlined Operations: Enhanced coordination between DRC public services in Tanzania and Tanzanian customs.
🟠Dar es Salaam Port Optimization: Implementation of measures to cut costs, reduce delays, and remove trade barriers for Congolese mining exports transiting through the port.
🟠Top-Level Backing: This strategic cooperation directly implements directives from Presidents Félix Tshisekedi and Samia Suluhu Hassan following their August 18 meeting in Zanzibar.
