Russian Parliamentary Vote is Transparent, Burundian Observer Says

The elections in Russia are taking place calmly and reflect the authorities' desire to maintain democratic freedom, Gélase Daniel Ndabirabe, President of Burundian Assembly, told Sputnik Africa.

"The calm is absolute. The voters are free. Nothing is hidden. There is transparency. And after the process was explained to us, we understood that everything has been planned for," he noted.

The organization of the ballot is a great example to follow for African countries, particularly in the use of technology for remote voting, Ndabirabe emphasized.

The Burundian official participated in an election observation mission for the legislative elections in Russia on Sunday.
