African and Caribbean nations must stand together to eradicate colonialism's lingering legacy and secure self-determination, Philip Smith, co-chair of the Bahamas National Reparations Justice Committee, said, as reported by Sputnik Africa's correspondent.
"True freedom is achieved when African and diaspora communities value themselves, resist mental slavery, and unleash their inner greatness," he noted at an international forum on history, reparative justice, and climate solutions in Addis Ababa.
The event unites voices from Ethiopia, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, the Global South, and the diaspora.
