African Students Recount Reaching North Pole on Russian Rosatom's Icebreaker Expedition
On August 4-13, a Rosatom-funded expedition took brilliant students from across the globe on an unforgettable Arctic adventure aboard a nuclear icebreaker.
"Actually seeing myself standing on the North Pole, it felt so unreal to me," Rwandan participant Louise Izere told Sputnik Africa.
Tanzanian participant Xyleen Mapunda noted that her main goal for the expedition was to learn and expand her knowledge, while young Namibian Tironnen Kadhikwa recalled the memorable launch of a prop plane into the ocean.
