Ghana Revives Juvenile League to Boost Grassroots Football: Association

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) officially launched the 2026-27 Colts Football Season to strengthen grassroots talent and feed the national teams, GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku said.

The league is set to improve the Ghanaian football system and drive the development of young footballers, the GFA noted.

This revival aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s recent call to urgently raise domestic football standards and restore the country's defunct Colts league, according to media reports.

ℹ Ghana is renowned for producing top football talent, with four Africa Cup of Nations titles and five FIFA World Cup appearances, including a quarter-final run in 2010.
