Russian Robust & Simple Vehicles Could Help Improve Healthcare in DRC: Congolese Entrepreneur
Transport is one of the main challenges to economic development in the DR Congo, Christian Munene told Sputnik Africa.
The DRC has indeed faced several epidemics, particularly in hard-to-reach areas, he noted, adding that speed of intervention is a crucial factor in saving lives.
With more than 2.3 million square kilometers of territory and often inadequate road infrastructure, all-terrain vehicles are generating increasing interest, according to Munene.
"They [Russian vehicles] are known to be more robust, with mechanical simplicity and the ability to perform in difficult environments," he emphasized.
ℹ A prime example is the legendary "Bukhanka" ("Loaf"), manufactured by the Russian UAZ manufacturer for decades, renowned for its exceptional off-road capabilities in harsh conditions.
