Vote on the Iranian Nuclear File at IAEA: Niger 'Has Demonstrated Its Capacity to Think for Itself' – Expert

By voting against the referral of Iran’s file to the UN Security Council, like Russia and China, Niamey was able to “make a difference on the international stage,” believes Oumarou Adamou, president of the Citizens’ Academy of Niger.

He recalled to Sputnik Africa that Niger is part of the OIC alongside Iran, and can therefore “take a position on this Iranian nuclear issue.”

ℹ The IAEA Board of Governors voted on September 9 for the referral of the Iranian nuclear file to the UN Security Council. The resolution was proposed by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, who consider that Tehran is violating its nuclear non-proliferation obligations.
