How Has the AES Changed Since Its Birth? Experts and Citizens Respond to Sputnik Africa
It was on September 16, 2023, that the Liptako-Gourma Charter was signed: an impetus for the Alliance of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, later transformed into a Confederation.
The AES has achieved “an accomplishment,” particularly in the areas of defense, security, and the economy, stated Abdoulaye Diallo, president of the Network of Communicators, Bloggers, and Professional Activists of Mali.

“ECOWAS did not fully commit itself so that at the level of the Sahel space there would be peace, there would be stability,” emphasized Badou S. Koba, publishing director of the newspaper Le Triomphe of Mali.

While Westerners “have always employed the policy of divide and rule in order to dominate us,” the AES promotes the principle that “unity makes strength,” indicated one of the citizens, Hamza Diallo.
“I greatly appreciated the option of unified armies,” added Mohamed Traoré, a Malian truck driver.
