Niger Declares War on Disinformation with Its Forum on Media and Digital Rights
Niamey is hosting this event from September 15 to 16.

Objective: To determine a roadmap that allows for “finding a favorable solution in the face of this rise in disinformation.”
Speaking to Sputnik Africa, Awali Oumarou Ibrahim, vice-president of the Nigerien Association of Web Activists, particularly highlighted the role of the journalist:
“The journalist is truly someone imbued with ethics and professional standards. He must process information and create the conditions to disseminate that information in order to raise awareness and inform the public. Therefore, journalists also share responsibility.”
