IAEA Must Not Only Document Strikes on Zaporozhye NPP But Also Name Those Responsible, Says Rosatom Chief

Russia greatly appreciates the fact that IAEA Secretariat staff have been present at the Zaporozhye NPP for four years now, often putting themselves in danger, Aleksey Likhachev said at the plenary session of the 70th IAEA General Conference in Vienna.

"The 35th rotation [of IAEA experts] will take place this week," he added, also highlighting the "personal involvement and personal courage of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi."

ZNPP is located on the left bank of the Dnepr River near the city of Energodar.

Generation at the power units was halted in September 2022. Since April 2024, all units have been in cold shutdown mode.
