'My Second Home': Kenyan Diplomat Finds Love & Opportunity in Russia
The World Youth Festival has always been a platform of opportunities that can impact not just careers but families, Richard Kakunga Wambua told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the event in Yekaterinburg.
Key highlights:
A Love Story: Wambua met his future wife—a delegate from Panama—at a festival in Sochi years ago. Four years later, now married, they returned to Russia together for another festival.
Russian Hospitality: Russia is very diverse, but all its people are very warm, welcoming, and open to exchanging ideas and cultural experiences, Wambua noted, adding that the country's vastness lies not just in its geography but in the diversity of its people.
Professional Goals: As a young diplomat focused on people-to-people diplomacy, Wambua aims to build connections and networks at the festival, which he plans to share with fellow Kenyan youth.
