Tanzania Plans Secondary Schools in Every Village as Compulsory Education Expands
The government aims to build more than 16,000 classrooms to accommodate the policy, which would extend mandatory schooling to Form Four, Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba announced during a working visit to Bahi District on Saturday.
Key highlights:
🟠The expansion will also require approximately 8,000 laboratories and additional libraries to prevent overcrowding and ensure quality learning conditions.
🟠Nchemba called for tighter government spending, urging officials to cut costs on unnecessary travel and entourages and redirect funds to classrooms, labs, and other essential services.
