Tanzania’s Startup Sector Emerges as Key Employment Solution: CEO of Startup Association
The sector is already a major driver of youth employment, supporting around 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, Zahoro Muhaji, CEO of the Tanzania Startup Association, told Sputnik Africa.
Innovation has low barriers to entry, requiring only a creative mind, which makes it highly accessible and attractive to young entrepreneurs, he noted.
According to Muhaji, the ecosystem also sees massive investment growth:
🟠Over $400 million invested between 2020 and 2026;
🟠Approximately $54 million secured in just the first half of this year alone.
With room to further grow, startups will continue to create jobs and deliver everyday solutions for Tanzanians, the speaker emphasized.
