Public-Private Partnerships Key to Africa’s Health Sovereignty: Cameroon's Health Minister

Amid declining external health funding, African nations must prioritize domestic resources and public-private partnerships to sustain their healthcare systems, Cameroonian Health Minister Manaouda Malachie told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the 76th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa.

Furthermore, African countries should accelerate local pharmaceutical production to reduce reliance on imported medicines, he noted.

The minister also called for a signing of a memorandum of understanding in the health sector with Russia.
