"I would love a situation where food sovereignty and food security are domesticated in Africa. So supplying grains from Russia or even through a collaboration with others is actually a short-term measure. Yes, it can happen; it enhances trade. But I keep insisting that the largest landmass, the Arab landmass in the world today available, is in Africa. So why not come to Africa and produce to supply the world? So bring in the research and the innovation. The resources are in Africa. Come and do it. You would be helping our people become gainfully employed," Kassim stated.
