Two Russian Companies Begin Gold Extraction in South Sudan, Russian Ambassador Says
Work has begun at sites in the states of Eastern Equatoria and Central Equatoria, Russian Ambassador to Juba Aleksandr Kosmodemyansky told Sputnik.
“Russia has considerable experience and expertise that could be used in key sectors of South Sudan’s economy,” including energy and oil, he said.
South Sudan, which has significant oil reserves, needs to modernize its infrastructure, the Russian ambassador said.

The ambassador noted that the two nations have broad prospects for cooperation in:
Mining
Oil and gas
Energy
Industry and manufacturing
