DRC Government & M23 Rebels Agree on Peace Roadmap: Statement
Following five days of talks in Geneva, with mediation by Qatar, the US, Togo, Switzerland, and the AU, a map for implementing previously reached peace agreements has been developed, according to the joint statement.
Key agreements reached by the parties:
🟠The steps and timelines for negotiations under the Doha Framework;
🟠A mechanism to review progress and address implementation challenges;
🟠The first ceasefire verification mission—with a standardized method for reporting violations—scheduled for Monday in Minembwe in eastern DRC;
🟠The commitment to pursue negotiations towards comprehensive peace and conflict resolution.
