The initiative is part of efforts to reduce new HIV infections among young people, Executive Director Adam Mrisho told the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and HIV/AIDS.
What Will the Trained Workers Do?

The Tanzania Commission for AIDS will also strengthen cooperation with the private sector and upgrade 32 knowledge centers.
Mrisho reportedly said that these centers will offer:
▪ HIV prevention education;
▪ Testing services;
▪ Antiretroviral (ARV) support, especially for young people
The measures are part of the government’s broader goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030, according to the official.
