Namibia Cancels $2.4M AI Crop Monitoring Deal With US Firm Over Legal Concerns: Media
The agreement failed to meet government contracting requirements, Agriculture Ministry's spokesman Romeo Muyunda told a Namibian media outlet.
The formal termination aims to safeguard state interests and ensure strict compliance with national laws and procedures, the official noted.
The canceled project involved using satellite imagery and AI to monitor the production of key crops, including maize, mahangu, millet, sorghum and wheat, according to the media.
