Ethiopia Prioritizing Conference Tourism as Key Economic Sector, Government Says The East African country is preparing to host the 76th session of the World Health Organization Regional Committee for Africa, with over 600 participants expected to attend in Addis Ababa from August 17 to 21.Ethiopia hosted over 150 international conferences and meetings in the 2024/2025 fiscal year and more than in FY 2025/2026, according to a statement by Government Communication Affairs Minister Deeta Tesfahun Gebezai."Conference tourism is being treated as a major economic sector and is being pursued with great focus," the minister told journalists ahead of the meeting.
