Zambian Incumbent President Hichilema Wins Second Term With Nearly 60% of Valid Votes: Electoral Commission Hichilema received 2,965,326 votes out of 4,902,050 valid ballots, while 126,566 ballots were rejected, Chairpeson of the Electoral Commission of Zambia Mwangala Zaloumis announced. His closest rival, Brian Mundubile, received approximately 1.8 million votes. Presidential and parliamentary elections were held in Zambia on August 13.
