Algerian PM Sifi Ghrieb arrived in Niger on Thursday for a working visit, where he will co-chair the official launch of drilling operations at the exploratory well alongside his Nigerien counterpart Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine.
The launch marks a major milestone—shifting Algeria-Niger relations from political convergence to practical, on-the-ground cooperation, with energy and hydrocarbons taking center stage.
This latest development follows two key events:
▪ The recent inauguration of a power plant in Niamey;
▪ The outcomes of the second session of the Algerian-Nigerien High Joint Commission for Cooperation.
