Securing Ghana-Burkina Faso Corridor is 'Very Big Step for Our Sovereignty': Burkinabe Political Analyst

The Ghana-Burkina Faso corridor is "one of the shortest routes from the coast to the hinterland," Karim Sagnon told Sputnik Africa, commenting on the recent defense cooperation deal signed between the two countries.

According to the analyst, the pact

⬇reduces transport costs for goods from the ports to Burkina Faso;

⬆boosts confidence among economic operators and transporters.

"An unsecured corridor inevitably drives up freight rates," he noted, adding that he believes other countries will follow suit with similar agreements to secure all of West Africa.
