Egypt's El-Dabaa Unit 1 Reaches New Milestone: Fourth Inner Containment Tier Concreted, Rosatom Reports
The work raised the reactor building's elevation from +24.4 meters to +34 meters, with the completed tier standing 9.6 meters high, according to Russia's Rosatom.
"The completed concreting of the inner containment fourth tier is a crucial milestone in the first power unit construction," Alexey Zhukov, First Vice President for Construction at Atomstroyexport, said, crediting the team's professionalism and responsibility.
Installation of the fifth tier is scheduled to begin in mid-August, with the polar crane to be installed on it later.
Sherif Helmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egypt's Nuclear Power Plants Authority, called the achievement "a new, crucial milestone in the project implementation" and praised the effective coordination of the construction teams.
