Culinary Duel: Chefs From Kinshasa & Brazzaville Compete to Better Celebrate Their Cuisine
The Russian House in Brazzaville hosted the first "Culinary Journey" on Tuesday, uniting chefs from the DRC and the Republic of Congo to celebrate their rich gastronomic heritage.
🟠The format: Contestants tackled two challenges: preparing a mandatory common dish and a randomly drawn regional Congolese specialty.
🟠The winners: Jeancy Boele (DRC) and Marie Nasie (Congo-Brazzaville) took the top spots and will represent their nations at a professional culinary competition in Saint Petersburg in October.
"This kind of competition allows us to learn," Boele said, while Marie Nasie noted that she is very happy to represent her country in Russia.
The Russian House Director, Maria Fakhroutdinova, highlighted the initiative's success and hopes to make the culinary battle a recurring event.
