Tanzania & DRC Forge Trade Corridor to Spark Economic Boom in Eastern Congo: Expert
The two countries are launching a new trade corridor to connect the Congolese region of Maniema to East Africa to enhance access to Tanzanian transport infrastructure, according to media reports.
Landlocked Maniema province is rich in gold and coltan but struggles with access to ocean ports and basic goods, Congolese economic affairs analyst Asanni Kizunguruka told Sputnik Africa.
Tanzania can serve as a vital gateway for the eastern DRC, opening massive business opportunities across East and Central Africa, he noted.
Key pillars of the new cooperation between the two countries, according to the expert:

🟠Mining Boom: Unlocking Maniema’s vast mineral resources for regional markets.

"This cooperation will truly be very meaningful, and we will continue bringing together the people of our region across all these countries of East and Central Africa," Kizunguruka emphasized.
