Colombia Earthquake: Death Toll Rises to 132 with Over 570 Injured

Pereira, the capital of Risaralda department—which borders the epicenter in Chocó—has emerged as the hardest-hit city, with 60 deaths recorded so far, according to the Colombian Association of Capital Cities.

The tremors were felt widely across Colombia and reached into neighboring Ecuador and Panama.

Meanwhile, the Colombian Geological Survey clarified that the seismic event was unrelated to the Puracé volcano in the southwest, which has remained under an orange alert for several weeks.
