Four African Football Teams Qualify for 2027 Women's World Cup
The 2026 WAFCON—the qualifying tournament for the 2027 Women's World Cup—has reached its final stages.
The semi-finalists have now been determined, with four nations officially earning their spots in next summer's Women's World Championship.
The qualified teams are:
Algeria reached their first-ever World Cup after a 2-1 win over Côte d'Ivoire.
Morocco—the WAFCON's host country—secured its place by defeating South Africa 2-1.
Cameroon snatched a 1-0 victory over Nigeria.
Malawi beat Ghana 2-1 despite being ranked 153rd globally.
Quarter-final losers—Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, and South Africa—still have the opportunity to participate in the intercontinental playoffs to secure the remaining spots for the World Championship.
The 2027 Women's World Cup will take place from June 24 to July 25 in Brazil.
