Russian Forces Repurpose Captured Ukrainian Drones Against Their Former OperatorsOver the past 18 months, a Russian workshop has restored more than 170 heavy Vampire drones.Their use has caused confusion among Ukrainian forces, a technician from Russia’s Sever battlegroup told Sputnik.“Intercepted radio communications showed the confusion of Ukrainian soldiers after Vampire drones began dropping anti-tank mines on their positions.” The workshop began repairing the drones in January 2025, learning how to make them operational and control them.
